Sorting: Symphony

The BD SORP FACSYMPHONY S6 cell sorter is equipped with 6 lasers (355, 405, 445, 488, 552, and 638nm) and can detect 30 parameters.

The Symphony uses sterile PBS as sheath buffer.  Samples can be maintained at 4°–42° C (upon request).  The instrument is contained inside a Baker Biosafety Cabinet suitable for BSL 1- and 2-level work. Samples may be received in any of the following formats: 12x75mm (5mL) FACS tubes or 15mL falcon-style centrifuge tubes.

Sorting nozzle sizes: 70um; 85um; 100um; 130um

Sample collection: 1- to 6-way for tubes (tube format limiting); 1 way to slides or dishes; 1 way for 6-, 12-, 24-, 48-, 96- and 384-well plates

Software: Diva 8.5 Beta on Windows 10. Data access available via USC network.
